  • RLT KS1 Athletics Festival

    Thu 23 May 2019 M Davis

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at Corby Stadium for the RLT KS1 athletics festival! The weather was kind to us, and the sun shone down as we arrived at the athletics track.

During the morning, the boys took part in their field events: the tennis ball throw, target beanbag throwing, and standing jump. The girls, meanwhile, were taking part in their track events. In the afternoon, events were reversed.

All of the children tried their hardest in all the events they took part in, and should be proud of how they got on. One or two people even won their heats and made it to the finals! The level of sportsmanship was fantastic, with all of the children not only encouraging each other, but also cheering for people from other schools. A particular congratulations to Evie for coming second overall in the year 2 girls bean bag throw, Bibi for coming first in the year 1 girls tennis ball throw, Howie for coming third in the year 2 boys tennis ball throw and Pippa for coming third in the year 2 girls 40m sprint.

A huge thank you to all the children for a fantastic day, and to the staff who accompanied us for all their hard work.

There are a few pictures below - but we were so busy, it was hard to get many!

  • Netball

    Sat 18 May 2019 M Davis
What a fantastic group of year 5/6 netballers we have! We have so far taken part in 3 out of 4 meetings with our 'league' of schools. Each week our team have got better and better, and more and more confident. We have been working hard on our 'grr' and being a little more assertive in our playing - the politeness of our children always shines through, and to begin with we were very happy to give the ball away rather than reach in to grab it! With some support from our expert netball players on the staff, we have worked on being more assertive in going for the ball and have raised our level of play enormously. Nets have been scored by four of our players, who were delivered the ball by some great teamwork. Our footwork is second to none! Our last meet is next week. Good luck to all concerned!
  • Class Dojo Afternoon Tea

    Sat 04 May 2019 M Davis
Mrs Davis had a  lovely time on Friday afternoon with the children who had chosen to have afternoon tea with the headteacher as one of their ClassDojo rewards. Mrs Almond made some lovely cucumber sandwiches, which were served with cakes and juice. There was lots of chatter about what we were looking forward to over the long weekend to come, and what we had been up to over the Easter holiday.
