  • RLT Basketball Festival

    Thu 12 Oct 2023 M Davis

A huge congratulations to our year 5/6 Basketball team for representing us at the RLT Basketball festival at Stamford. Mrs Ranson reported some great playing, including some great dodging of other teams and fantastic teamwork. Whilst you may not have made it to the final, you should be proud of the way you played as a team and the great sportsmanship showed. Well done!

  • RLT Football Tournaments

    Mon 09 Oct 2023 M Davis

We are very pleased, this year, to be able to field both a Year 3/4 and a Year 5/6 football team for the RLT Football tournaments.

Friday saw the first games of the tournaments, and both teams acquitted themselves very well, with some super defending from both teams. Mrs Ranson reported that both teams showed great sportsmanship and played well.

We look forward to the next games for Year 5/6 in December and for Year 3/4 after Christmas.

  • Visit to Oakham Museum

    Wed 04 Oct 2023 M Davis

Cobalt Class enjoyed their visit to Oakham museum this week, as part of their World War II topic.

The class got the opportunity to take part in workshops looking at the lives of evacuees during the war and learning a little more about rationing and the role of Morrison shelters during air raids. Whilst they enjoyed all the new information the learnt, the museum staff were also very impressed with the knowledge they already had!

There was then an opportunity to look around some of the other museum exhibits.

A huge thank you to the Friends of Oakham Castle and Oakham Museum, who funded the cost of the coach. With this now being the biggest cost for trips, this was very much appreciated in enabling us to give the children an enhanced experience.
