Read below to find out more about some of the different activities we have been getting up to; from sporting and musical activities, to visitors and 'wow' days. We are looking forward to helping our children 'explore and grow' further in 2023-24.

  • Friends and Family Reunion

    Fri 22 Jun 2012
We are holding a Friends and Family reunion on Friday 22nd June 6.30-9pm. Tickets are £5 per adult and £3 per child to include a bbq. There will be a disco, tuck shop, tombola, raffle and splat the rat! Bring your own drink and glasses.
  • Meeting the Queen

    Wed 13 Jun 2012
On Wednesday 13th June eight children and two staff from school went to Burghley House for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. After a cloudy start to the day, the sun gradually came out and we had a super day. After a quick explore of the site, we found a good position, right next to the fence where the queen would pass by on her way to lunch, and with a good view of her tree planting. There were a few false helicopter sightings before the maroon helicopter finally came in to land and the Queen emerged wearing pale turquoise. Much waving of flags ensued, and we were lucky enough to see the Queen close up as she drove by to the place where she was having lunch. To Georgia's relief it was also time for us to have our lunch! We were able to get a good position to see the Queen leave as well, and joined in with an enthusiastic singing of the national anthem. We had time to explore some of the tents, and even spotted our bunting on the Rutland Sailability boat, as well as listening to some super music from military bands and local schools. After an ice cream we were able to watch the aerial acrobatics of the blades, before spitfire and hurricane planes arrived to give their display.

A happy, but weary band of travellers from Exton were pleased to rest their feet on the coach on the way home!

A big thank you from Mrs Davis and Mrs Heywood for the super behaviour of the children who accompanied us, who were all a credit to the school and their parents.

  • Jubilee Celebrations

    Fri 01 Jun 2012
Today in school we held our Jubilee Celebrations. During the week the children had been learning about Queen Elizabeth II and her family. Friday heralded a day dressed in red, white and blue!

The morning was spent recording our homegrown Jubilee song so that we could send a copy to the Queen. Many thanks to Elijah and Sammy for writing the letter which will accompany the CD.

We had a special Jubilee picnic lunch, held inside due to the weather, with sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls and Jubilee jelly. This was an opportunity to wear our Jubilee crowns, and wave our homemade flags. In the afternoon we played a few party games before finally being able to get outside to enjoy the (late!) sunshine.

All the children were given a commemorative coin to take home as a souvenir.
