Read below to find out more about some of the different activities we have been getting up to; from sporting and musical activities, to visitors and 'wow' days. We are looking forward to helping our children 'explore and grow' further in 2023-24.

  • African Drumming

    Sat 25 Feb 2017 M Davis

The school was rocking to the sound of African drums on Friday!

We were very pleased to welcome Keba to teach us how to play African drums. All of the children got to have a go on the African drums, from the youngest reception child to year 6 - and even some staff got in on the action!

Class 1 played rhythm games and practised simple call and responses. Classes 2 and 3 spent time learning some drumming patterns and learning to put different rhythms together. Class 3 took this on to include learning patterns for starting, stopping and changing rhythm and speed.

At the end of the day the children all came together to share what they had learnt and perform together.

The children had a fantastic day, and it was a great extension of Class 2's Africa topic. A huge thank you to Rutland Music Hub for their support in this activity, and in particular to Keba for sharing his expertise.

  • Swimming Gala

    Mon 06 Feb 2017 D Kennard-Kettle

On Monday 6th February some of our strongest swimmers went to represent the school at the Rutland Schools Sports Partnership Swimming Gala.

The children were great ambassadors for the school and all tried their best. Congratulations to Polly for coming 4th in her race, to Olivia for coming 3rd in her backstroke heat, and to Bethany for coming 5th in her heat.

Mrs Ranson reported that the children all did very well, and were excellent company, as well as being polite and very supportive of each other.  Thank you to Mrs Ranson for taking them, and to the girls for some fantastic results.
