Read below to find out more about some of the different activities we have been getting up to; from sporting and musical activities, to visitors and 'wow' days. We are looking forward to helping our children 'explore and grow' further in 2023-24.

  • Quadkids

    Thu 24 May 2018 M Davis

I wonder if any other school have over half of their KS2 children representing their school in a single sporting activity?! We had 63% of KS2 taking part in Quadkids Athletics on Thursday after school!

Mrs Ranson and Miss Bevins were very impressed with all the children who attended.

Mrs Ranson writes: "Congratulations to our team of 15 athletes who attended the Quadkids event at Casterton College yesterday. All participants competed in a sprint, long distance run, throw and a jump. We had some amazing throwers, one even threw it beyond the length of the measuring tape! Everyone launched themselves with a spring into the sandpit for their jumps, the sprints were fiercely contested and, even though the distance races around the athletics track were tough, every Exton pupil ran around and made Miss Bevins and Mrs Ranson very proud. Thank you to the team and to the supporters."

We received the results on Friday afternoon which showed that both our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams came third! We also had some individual triumphs, with Declan coming 2nd overall for the Year 3/4 Boys individually, and Skye coming 3rd overall for the Year 3/4 Girls individual competition.

  • What makes our school special?

    Mon 14 May 2018 M Davis

Our enrichment writing group were asked to write some reasons why children and parents should choose our school. The following are completely unprompted - but the staff are very touched by their kind comments!

"You should come to our school because our school has all the best teachers and the best learning methods. If you tell them that you don't understand then they will find a way for you to understand. There are the most kind people. They give the best education."

"Our school is good because all the kids are very nice, kind and helpful. All the teachers help encourage all the kids to enjoy and move on in their learning. We all get along and play well. I like the school because it encourages me in my learning and to get along with everyone."

"The teacher are organised and I love every lesson! Our headteacher is the best one I could ask for! If I had to pick any school in Rutland, it would for sure be this one. All of the kids are so nice and empathetic."

  • Cross Country Success!

    Thu 03 May 2018 M Davis

We were delighted to receive a Bronze Medal in the post today for Declan, who had represented the school and the county in Rutland and Leicestershire Cross County Competition a few weeks ago.

Once the team scores had been added up, the Rutland team had come 3rd overall. Well done to Declan for his contribution to the Rutland medal!
