Brooke Hill Trip

KS1 going with Brooke Hill to Corby theatre to see Percy the Park Keeper. Depart Exton at 12 noon, returning by 3.45pm - packed lunch required - full school uniform.
KS2 - story telling event at Brooke Hill. Depart Exton 9.30am returning by 11.30am. -
Children in Need
Mon 21 Nov 2011This was an excellent day and was enjoyed by all participants.
The children prepared and cooked their picnic food in the morning as well as having their face painted. Everyone was dressed in spots which looked great, especially when taking part in the sponsored run/walk. After the run the children enjoyed eating their picnic in the school hall!

Travelling with Tuba workshop with Brooke Hill
Sun 02 Oct 2011Class 3 went to join Brooke Hill last week for a concert and workshop by Travelling with Tuba. After finding out lots about the history of brass instruments, and the different brass instruments that can be found around the world, we joined the year 5/6 children at Brooke Hill in a Salsa workshop. We had the opportunity to play tone chimes, claves, triangles, broom handles (!), agogo bells and maracas to join together in a big salsa piece. A good time was had by all! -
Activity Club

Class 3 visit to Wild's Lodge Music Festival
Thu 15 Sep 2011Class 3 enjoyed their day at the Wild's Lodge Music Festival. There was the opportunity to learn to play the ukelele and the African drums, as well as learn more about harmonica playing and recording studios. Everyone had a turn at being a dj, and using a mixing desk. We were also able to make our own maracas. We listened to bands from Wild's Lodge and from Catmose College, as well as taking part in a mass ceiledh dance with the other schools attending. The day finished with come and sing performance of the Beatles song 'Hey Jude'. Everyone had a brilliant time, and we hope to go again next year!

Rutland Netball Club
Mon 12 Sep 2011A netball club has been set up at Catmose College, Oakham and is open to all children from year 4 to adult! The year 4/5/6 session is from 4pm until 5pm every Monday during term time and costs £3 per session. For more information please contact Mrs K-K at the school on 01572 812830.
