WELCOME BACK!
This Term we will continue our Topic overview of 'The Frozen Planet'. We will be exploring the question of 'How do Polar Animals stay warm?'. In science, we will be learning how to group animals based upon their physical appearances and attributes. We will be using the terms, mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and amphibians. We will also be looking closely at their teeth and how this shows us what they eat. Will will be sorting and classifying the different animals into carnivores, omnivores and herbivores.
In our English we will continue our focus on the book Poles Apart and write a non- chronological report on a polar bear. We are continue to focus on handwriting and letter formation and all are attempting to sit their letters on the line with sizing in mind for year 1.
In Maths, year 1 will be looking at place value to 50 and measuring. EYFS will be looking at the number 10 and identifying and completing repeating patterns.
We will begin our computing lessons about technology. We will learn that technology is not always something that is powered by electricity or batteries but it is something that has been made by someone to help achieve something e.g. a sharpener. They will learn the different names of the parts of a laptop/ desktop computer and how to double click icons as well as dragging and dropping.
In PE this term, we will continue to build up their physical stamina and their core strength through learning ball skills and how we can make a ball move and how a ball can be caught. We will also be looking to practice a range of target games to help with our hand eye coordination.
I thoroughly look forward to seeing you all!
