Term 5 is a short but exciting term!

For Science and our understanding of the world, we are looking at growing plants. We will be identifying the different parts, how to grow our own and what is needed. 

This term we are also having some focused lessons on puppet making in our Design and Technology. We will be looking at how to join different materials and the steps to creating our own puppets which will then be used within provision in our puppet theater. 

In Maths, Year 1 will be learning about Mass and Capacity. They will also begin their learning on Multiplication and Division looking at equal groups and repeated addition.

In English, we have a book focus on one of my favourite books 'The Secret of Black Rock'. We will explore the book through the character of Erin who longs to go and visit the Black Rock. However, the legend of Black Rock is one full of made up stories and legends. Will Erin make it to explore Black Rock? We will have to wait and see!

Within PSHCE, we are learning about the reason rules exist; in games and in life. We will discuss our school rules and how they help but also rules within games we play in the classroom.
