We change our reading books twice a week. Usually on a Tuesday and a Friday. It would be great if reading books were in school everyday.

When our Little Wandle Phonics is in full flow, the children will also bring home a phonics book that match their phonics knowledge which they will have read 3 times in their reading sessions.

Little Wandle Reading Books

Year 1 - Start taking home a Little Wandle Guided reading book by Term 2. They will have read this 3 times for automaticity, prosody and comprehension in school and it would be great if they shared this at home too. These will be collected in on a Wednesday and handed back with that week's book by the Friday.

EYFS Little Wandle Guided Reading

EYFS will be taking home a Little Wandle Book when we believe they are ready which is usually in Term 3. The children will have read this in school 3 times, just like the year ones. Please read this book as many times as possible as it helps to develop fluency and understanding. Again, these will be collected in on the Wednesday and the next book handed out by the Thursday or Friday.

We appreciate all the reading you do at home and it really does make a great impact on their confidence and enjoyment.
