Visit to Oakham Museum
Cobalt Class enjoyed their visit to Oakham museum this week, as part of their World War II topic.
The class got the opportunity to take part in workshops looking at the lives of evacuees during the war and learning a little more about rationing and the role of Morrison shelters during air raids. Whilst they enjoyed all the new information the learnt, the museum staff were also very impressed with the knowledge they already had!
There was then an opportunity to look around some of the other museum exhibits.
A huge thank you to the Friends of Oakham Castle and Oakham Museum, who funded the cost of the coach. With this now being the biggest cost for trips, this was very much appreciated in enabling us to give the children an enhanced experience.
