The Queen's 90th Birthday Party
As part of their topic on Monarchs, Class 1 invited Key Stage 2 to join them in a birthday party for Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday.
The weather was kind, and we were able to set you tables outside.
Class 1 spent the morning making sandwiches and icing cakes for the birthday tea, as well as making crowns and place mats.
At half past two we all met in the playground for our birthday tea. Seated around a long table, we sang 'Happy Birthday' to Her Majesty before enjoying jam, cheese, cheese spread and chocolate spread sandwiches, crisps, cakes and some of Mrs Fowler's toffee crisp. There was even jelly to finish with.
We ended the meal by singing the National Anthem and having three cheers for the Queen.
A huge thank you to Mrs Fowler, Mrs Jagger, Mrs Heywood and Miss Lynch for organising the picnic. We hope the Queen had as good a day as we did!
