Remembrance
On Friday 10th November the whole school took part in Remembrance activities, as well as completing a minute of silence at 11am.
The children talked about the significance of Remembrance Day both in reference to the current topic for classes 2 and 3, focussed on World War II, and for those in our school community with parents serving with the Armed Forces. There were craft activities linked to poppies, and poems and prayers were also written.
A display has been made out of all the work completed from reception through to year 6 in the WWII bunker in the KS2 corridor- picture to follow.
On Remembrance Day itself (which fell on Saturday this year) some of the children met Mrs Davis to represent the school at the Exton Act of Remembrance at the Exton War Memorial. It was lovely to have representatives from all three classes who were beautifully behaved and were a credit to the school and their parents. Grant shared the poem he had written, Harry and George read part of the service and Hannah and Charlotte placed a posy on the war memorial on behalf of the whole school community.
