Exton & Greetham CE Primary School

Leaver's Assembly

Today was a day of heightened emotions as we shared drama, songs and memories as part of our Leaver's Assembly.

After a rousing round of 'We are from Exton & Greetham School', the Key Stage 2 children performed their play 'I'm a year 6, get me out of here'. The year 6 children were sent to the jungle and had to complete a range of challenges, as well as share their memories. The drama was also interspersed with some super singing.

After the play, Mrs Davis talked about each of the year 6 children and how they had changed since they started at the school. The children were all given a commemorative mug, a year group photograph and a Bible from the church.

After another song, certificates of achievement were handed out to Year 6, and thanks given to all those who give up their time to support the school through volunteering to help listen to readers, support the school through FOEGS, and to staff and governors.

The assembly concluded with the year 6's choice of song 'where do we go from here?'. We saved this until last, as we knew it would make us all emotional!

This year 6 are a very special year group and we are proud of all their achievements. They have worked hard all year and are all ready for secondary school. We wish them all well, and hope that they will keep in touch.
