This afternoon those KS2 who have not gone to Kingswood had the opportunity to visit Market Overton Bowls Club and try Bowls. We are very grateful to the Club for inviting us to try their sport.

After a small amount of time learning the basics and developing some technique a small competition was held. All the children (and Mrs Davis!) tried hard. Congratulations to Bobby for receiving the winning trophy after a closely fought final with Isobel.

We then retired into the club house for cake and squash. The cake was delicious!

There was then an awards ceremony and the children were all given a goody bag to take away.

The children all had a great time and it was a fun and relaxing sport. Lots of the children are interested in going again. This is a sport which is often seen as the domain of the older generation, but there is a great deal of skill involved and we all agreed that it is something that the whole family could enjoy.
