Easter Celebrations

Our Easter Day started with our Easter Service in Greetham Church. This told the story through the Easter alphabet. Key Stage 2 children led us through the story with clear reading and diction and shared some wonderful art work. Key Stage 1 joined in for some hearty singing. After lunch we had our traditional egg rolling. Congratulations to our winning egg rollers. It was nice that 4 of the 6 winning eggs were 'home laid'; and particularly good that 2 of those were from chicks hatched at school last year! The staff rolled crème eggs. It should be noted that these roll fairly consistently, all credit to the manufacturers! Egg and spoon races followed the egg rolling, and this was followed by our Crème Egg Hunt on the school field. There was some excellent team work with older children helping the younger children. Then there was just enough time to enjoy our Crème Eggs in the sunshine before hometime. One of our school values is 'honesty'. Today has shown what honest children we have. The children also search for Starburst sweets during the Crème Egg Hunt. There were 3 each this year, but we failed to find 5. (These children were topped up from a bag of spares!) During the playtime 3 children each found one of the missing Starburst sweets, and instead of eating their find, brought them to the teachers for safe keeping. Well done.
