Quicksticks Hockey

Weren't we lucky with the weather for the Quicksticks Hockey tournament?! We were really proud of all of the children who went to Uppingham today to represent the school in the year 3/4 and year 5/6 Rutland Quicksticks Hockey tournament.

The year 3/4 event took place during the morning, and Mrs Wardle was very proud of how the team worked together to do their best. There was some great defence and lots of attempts at scoring goals.

In the afternoon Mrs Davis was there to support the year 5/6 team. A big thank you to Ella for staying to play for year 5/6 to make up our team numbers. The children worked together really well, and quickly learnt from their early mistakes. We were very pleased to come second in our group which meant we were put through to play in the second round. We learnt that we needed to be a bit more confident in attacking the ball, so we had a quick 'roar' before we started each game! Georgia thinks we should create an 'Exton Hacka'! Watch this space! We were very proud to come 8th overall out of the 14 teams that attended.

As ever all the children were fantastic company, a credit to the school and showed excellent sportsmanship. The unexpected sunshine was a bonus!
