A visit from the Bishop of Brixworth

On Friday 27th September we were pleased to welcome the Bishop of Brixworth to our assembly. He bought all of his robes, and we were able to see him 'get dressed' while he explained why Bishop's wear purple, why they then cover this with white robes, why they wear a stole and also look at his Bishop's staff and mitre. Mrs Davis even learnt things, even though she grew up in a vicarage!

Before he went, the Bishop bravely answered our many questions. Key Stage One were most interested in how he travelled; while Key Stage Two had plenty of questions about his job and what he did all day!

Many thanks to Clare Hitchcox for bringing the Bishop to us from Greetham. We hope he enjoyed the rest of his weekend in the Cottesmore team of churches!
