Cobalt Class (Year 4 and Year 5)

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great Christmas and are ready for some exciting learning in 2022.

Here is an overview of what we will be learning in terms 3 and 4, along with a knowledge organiser which contains lots of useful information.

This term, we will be focusing on the Gunpowder Plot in History; looking into the lives of all 13 plotters, as well as developing an understanding of why the plot was not successful. In English, we will be writing biographies. Together we will write Robert Catesby's (the original plotter) biography and the children will be interviewing a key member of the plot to gain information, so that they can independently write his biography! Exciting times!

A few notices:

Reading diaries are now with your children. We expect children to read at least five times a week.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will be due back in on a Wednesday. This will start from Friday 10th September.

If you have any queries please don't hesitate to catch me before or after school, or alternatively contact me via Class Dojo.

New Year - New start!  Autumn term 2020

Hi everyone! Welcome back, its wonderful to see you all and get back to our new "normal", I'm very excited to get to see you all again and for us get chance to feel like a community again :)

Below is our termly learning planner and knowledge organiser for this term - check out all the exciting things we will be getting up to this term!

Home learning hub!

For Term 5, this is where you will find all the tasks, video explanations and reading material you will need to access the learning for each lesson.  It will be exactly the same as the work that has been put on dojo, only on here it can be grouped into folders rather than a continuous story page.  Hopefully this will make it clearer to find things and also easier to find the right activity if a day is missed . The idea is, that each day new maths and English lessons will be added to the block to make sure the work is clear and easy to manage and each week the big question and resources for the afternoons will also be added, giving a clearer structure to follow - fingers crossed!
